Crossing Borders LIVE holds its last weekly broadcast on WVBR (the series evolves into a new life in 2009) on December 27th at 8pm, at the Lost Dog Lounge, 106 S. Cayuga Street. The marathon Wrap party and concert will feature a fairly new 8 piece all-star salsa band, El Rumbon, whose singular mission is "to be at the center of a raging Latin dance party". The two-hour broadcast can be heard on 93.5fm, or streamed online at wvbr.com. The wrap dance party will continue after the broadcast. For information about the series, go to crossingborderslive.org. Admission to the event is $10.00 and free to Passport subscription holders.

The driving rhythms and hot horn section of El Rumbon will give you a workout all night long: playing Salsa, Mambo, Plena, Bomba, and an occasional ChaChaCha from artists such as Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Manny Oquendo, Eddie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco, Mongo Santamaria, and more...." The all-star line -up includes: Charlie Izzo...congas/vocals; Cesar Enciso...bongos/vocals; Jorge Cuevas....timbales; Ryan Zawel...trombone/vocals; Frank Campos...trumpet; Rick Huyge...sax/flute; Harry Aceto...bass; Alejandro Bernard...piano.
