Thousands of One represents a powerful musical vehicle for change - transcending worlds and divides through music, lyrics, and social commitment to the eradication of racism, sustainability, and re-establishing connection to the source and the culture of community. The music is a collective of solid forces joining to unite musical styles and grooves; group members converged via projects across the musical spectrum: hiphop, reggae, jazz, soul, funk, Motown, West African, Arabic, gospel, and country. They met in a weekly jam session in Trumansburg, NY, and amassed an unparalleled following within one year. Jhakeem Haltom mesmerizes on vocals. Indeed all the performers in the group engage the audience in the journey of the music. The six members include: Jhakeem Haltom (lead vocals), Joel Blizzard (drums), Brent Eva (bass), Mark Wienand (saxophone), Safak Ozkan (guitar), and Chad Lieberman (piano). A self-titled debut Cd was released in 2005 on I-Town Records, and the ensemble appeared at the time on Crossing Borders in an unplugged version. In 2008 a second Cd was released entitled Soul Force.
