Stacy Rock has been compared to a baffling variety of artists including Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Paul McCartney, Carol King, Stevie Nicks, Emmylou Harris and even Bob Dylan. In spite of the comparisons, a listener will find in Stacy a unique voice as a singer and writer, both original and reminiscent of music from the vinyl age. She also happens to be an accomplished actor, having studied classical and method acting in the exclusive acting program at Boston University and The Royal Academy of Art in London. She appeared in numerous independent films and stage productions and draws on much of her acting experience and literary knowledge for her writing.

Stacy grew up in a remote part of north-eastern Montana where she studied classical piano. She experimented in Blues, Bluegrass and Rock and Roll bands while attending college, then moved to NYC where she became the resident piano bar player at the famous Monkey Bar in Midtown. She left that job to record her first full length album, One Way Home, released to rave reviews. The debut album has been played on radio stations across the country and was listed as one of the best "under the radar" independent releases of 2006.

Stacy's song "Anne" was chosen for the SonicBids Listen Up Compilation Volume 3 and recently played on NPR. She was selected as a songwriter for the famed Sunday Writer's Night at the Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, TN and has had music placement in independent films. She filled a principal acting role in the independent film, Murder Party, which won several awards at film festivals and was recently released internationally by Magnolia Pictures. The groovy culture blog Medialysis voted Stacy on of the two Funniest Femme of 2007 (the other being Amy Poehler) for her role in Murder Party..

Gorgeous Album.

...Cord Magazine, Andy Scheffler

An unequivocally enchanting performance last week, Stacy's melodic and uplifting keyboard arrangements combined with a stellar vocal delivery are the bedrocks of this most enjoyable artist.

...Jezebel Music, Gabriel Levitt

The classically trained pianist is quite the storyteller, utilizing elements of folk, country, vaudeville, and rock in the vein of Tom Waits or early eighties Bob Dylan to create a memorable backdrop for each song.

...Infuze Magazine, Mark Fisher

This is a great record that stands on its own two feet and I can only hope that people out there open their minds up enough to wrap their arms around an album like this. I love this record for many reasons and welcome it to my collection.
