This is the third time that Crossing Borders has hosted the event, a community favorite. The trio has been performing the concert annually for years, and a loyal following counts it among the "must do" traditions of Ithaca surrounding the holiday season. Besides performing material from their 'Traditions' Cd, the group traditionally invites friends and family on stage for impromptu musical memories.

The sisters appear fresh from a two month tour with Arlo Guthrie, lately an annual gig for them, and will appear with band members: Kevin Maul, who recently toured with Robin and Linda Williams, Tony Markellis, also just returned from touring with Trey Anastasio of Phish, and guitarist Larry Clyman. Says Marie Burns "As always, there will be many special guests.." (The Arlo tour resumes in 2009.)

The Burns Sisters Band have produced numerous recordings over several decades: the most recent 2006 Wild Bouquet was a favorite among folk DJ polls and the track by Marie Burns, Bring Them Home, was nominated Song of the year by Folk Alliance Awards. Artist Cds are available for sale at the concert and in local stores.
