The BlacktailsSaturday, October 18Broadcast LIVE fr Homer Center for Performing ArtsBonus On-Air Intermission Concert: Padma Bhushan Prabha Atre - Hindustani musicCrossing Borders LIVE, WVBR's multicultural radio concert series, is pleased to partner again with the Center for the Performing Arts at Homer to present The BlackTails live in concert at the Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 18th at 8pm. The two- hour simultaneous broadcast can be heard on WVBR 93.5fm or online at wvbr.com or www.crossingborderslive.org. Tickets for the concert can be purchased online at www.center4art.org, or by calling toll free (877) 749-ARTS and at the door.* A bonus intermission broadcast will also be inserted during the Crossing Borders program - the airing of last April's collaboration with Cornell's South Asia Program featuring Padma Bhushan Prabha Atre in an afternoon of Hindustani music. Portions of that live performance will be broadcast during intermission of the BlackTails concert. The BlackTails are known for red hot musicianship, unique musical arrangements, dynamic improvisation and high energy performance with influences drawn from American Roots, West Coast Swing, Gypsy Jazz , Surf Rock, Blues and classics and material bouncing between such extremes as the classic movie themes like Mission Impossible and an original songbook. Individual band members have shared the stage with such giants as Muddy Waters, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, and The Spin Doctors. On the heels of their debut album, Spy Lounge, Scotch Whiskey company Dewars drew them into a the company's national advertising campaign.
